Founder Grace Nelson is on a mission to solve the nonprofit scarcity problem by aligning resources with measurable impact

ATLANTA (Dec. 10) — Founded in November 2019, just months before the global pandemic, Magenta is now proudly celebrating its fifth anniversary of helping mission-focused organizations develop frameworks and communication tools that make their impact knowable and inspire new heights of support.

Founder Grace Nelson — previously Director of Strategy and Data Analytics at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta — originally launched Magenta as a fundraising consulting business. Over five years, the firm has developed a niche in impact reporting, leveraging Nelson’s ability to articulate cohesive insights from complex information, and build persuasive narratives. Magenta’s two primary spheres of work are cases for funding, which prepare non-profits to approach major donors with compelling fundraising proposals, and impact reports, which demonstrate how organizations have invested donor contributions to fulfill their missions.

Nelson believes that with proper impact measurement and reporting, non-profit organizations are uniquely positioned to become the gold standard for organizational effectiveness while addressing the world’s greatest challenges. Through Magenta’s work, she is on a mission to solve non-profit scarcity obstacles by helping organizations align funding with impact to more efficiently meet the needs of their constituents.

“Working with a variety of fast-growing, fundraising-focused organizations has been an invigorating learning experience,” Nelson reflects. “In the past five years, I’ve seen philanthropy in action from many perspectives, in peak cycles and unprecedented challenges. It’s rewarding to look back on how all of this work has positioned Magenta to develop stronger, standout cases for funding for our clients. With each case we build, we learn more about the world, and we leave the project better equipped to tell new stories and solve new problems.”

Magenta’s nationwide client roster has included Meals On Wheels Atlanta, OnBoard Inc., Backline Care, The Woodruff Arts Center, and more.
